Dalam proses ekstrusi atau kalender selanjutnya, retakan tersebut tidak dapat dipadatkan kembali. Oleh karena itu, ingot yang retak dianggap sebagai produk limbah mutlak selama proses pemeriksaan ingot. Adanya retakan pengecoran sangat memengaruhi efisiensi produksi dan keuntungan ekonomi perusahaan pengolahan aluminium. Mengambil contoh ingot bulat, manifestasi makroskopisnya meliputi retakan permukaan, retakan tengah, retakan cincin, retakan radial, retakan saluran, dan sebagainya.<\/p>\n<p>Retak dingin mengacu pada retakan yang terbentuk ketika paduan berada di bawah suhu solidus paduan tersebut, dan sebagian besar terjadi pada suhu sekitar 200\u00b0C. Kecuali pada paduan Al-Si, cacat ini dapat ditemukan pada hampir semua paduan aluminium industri yang mengalami deformasi. Mekanisme pembentukan retak termal terutama mencakup teori kekuatan, teori lapisan cair, dan teori pembentukan retak. Di antaranya, teori kekuatan bersifat umum. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian mengenai sifat mekanik paduan pada suhu tinggi, diyakini bahwa semua paduan memiliki \u201crentang suhu kerapuhan\u201d di mana kekuatan dan perpanjangan sangat rendah di zona padat-cair di atas suhu solidus. Ketika paduan mendingin dalam rentang ini, jika tegangan yang disebabkan oleh penyusutan melebihi kekuatan logam pada saat itu, atau deformasi yang disebabkan oleh tegangan melebihi plastisitas logam, hal ini akan menyebabkan timbulnya retak panas.<\/p>\n<p>Dalam proses produksi, pada umumnya tidak ada retakan panas atau retakan dingin yang murni. Apabila kandungan pengotor tinggi, distorsi kisi pada struktur paduan akan meningkat, tegangan internal pun meningkat, dan kemampuan untuk menahan deformasi plastis menurun secara signifikan, sehingga paduan menjadi rentan terhadap retakan.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Reduce_the_gas_content_and_inclusion_content\"><\/span>Kurangi kandungan gas dan kandungan inklusi<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Saat proses peleburan aluminium dan paduan aluminium, gas tungku dan gas udara harus berinteraksi dengan aluminium cair di antarmuka, sehingga menimbulkan proses-proses seperti reaksi kimia, dekomposisi, pelarutan, dan difusi. Aluminium mengalami oksidasi dan menyerap gas.<\/p>\n<p>Karena kandungan H\u2082 dalam gas yang diserap oleh logam cair mencapai lebih dari 85%, dan kelarutan hidrogen dalam logam cair menurun seiring dengan penurunan suhu. Sebagian besar gas tersebut mengendap saat cairan logam mengkristal dan mengeras, sehingga terbentuk pori-pori pada ingot.
