Bahan ini juga dapat digunakan dalam bentuk lembaran logam, pelat dan foil aluminium, batang, bilah, serta kawat. Aluminium dapat dimanfaatkan dalam industri pengemasan, industri transportasi, serta industri bangunan dan konstruksi. Proses pembuatan aluminium cukup rumit.<\/p>\n<p>Aluminium dapat diproduksi dari bijih bauksit atau limbah aluminium. Proses pemurnian bijih aluminium cukup mahal, sehingga industri produksi sekunder mendominasi sebagian besar pasar. Karena kebutuhan energinya yang tinggi, produsen aluminium primer besar cenderung berlokasi di daerah dengan biaya energi yang rendah. Sementara itu, produsen sekunder cenderung berlokasi di dekat pusat-pusat industri.<\/p>\n<p>Baik produsen aluminium primer maupun sekunder memurnikan dan melebur aluminium, lalu membentuknya menjadi ingot aluminium. Ingot-ingot tersebut dikirim ke pabrik pengecoran logam atau pabrik pengolahan lainnya untuk proses pengecoran atau penggulungan.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1232\" src=\"https:\/\/aluminiumceramicfiber.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Aluminium-Manufacturing-Process.jpg\" alt=\"Proses Pembuatan Aluminium\" width=\"500\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.aluminiumceramicfiber.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Aluminium-Manufacturing-Process.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.aluminiumceramicfiber.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Aluminium-Manufacturing-Process-300x240.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Proses Pembuatan Aluminium<\/h2>\n<p>Ada tiga tahap dalam proses pembuatan aluminium dari bijih bauksit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proses Ekstraksi Aluminium Oksida<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pertama, alumina diekstraksi dari bijih bauksit, biasanya menggunakan Proses Bayer. Dalam Proses Bayer, bauksit yang telah dihancurkan dicampur dengan natrium hidroksida, lalu dimasukkan ke dalam wadah. Suhu dan tekanan tinggi memicu reaksi pada campuran bijih dan natrium hidroksida. Hasilnya adalah aluminium oksida yang terlarut dan residu bijih. Residu tersebut membentuk lumpur di dasar digester. Aluminium oksida diuapkan dan dikondensasikan. Tambahkan pati dan bahan-bahan lain untuk menghilangkan kotoran yang masih tersisa dari oksida tersebut. Pindahkan larutan ke tangki presipitasi untuk mengkristalkan aluminium oksida. Kemudian, cuci kristal tersebut dan keringkan dengan vakum.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proses Ekstraksi Aluminium<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Selanjutnya, untuk memperoleh logam aluminium dari aluminium oksida, biasanya digunakan proses Hall-Heroult. Dalam proses ekstraksi aluminium ini, aluminium oksida dimasukkan ke dalam sel elektrolitik yang berisi krioit cair. Sebatang karbon di dalam sel tersebut diberi arus listrik, dan reaksi yang terjadi menghasilkan karbon monoksida, karbon dioksida, dan aluminium. Aluminium tersebut mengendap di dasar sel, kemudian diambil dari tangki dan dikirim ke tungku peleburan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proses Pengecoran Aluminium<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Aluminium cair dicampur dengan paduan yang diinginkan untuk memperoleh karakteristik tertentu, lalu dituang menjadi ingot untuk dikirim ke bengkel fabrikasi. Di bengkel fabrikasi, aluminium cair atau paduan aluminium tersebut dilelehkan kembali, dituangkan ke dalam cetakan, dan didinginkan.
