Setelah dipanaskan dan dilelehkan hingga menjadi cairan logam, komposisi cairan logam tersebut disesuaikan agar menghasilkan cairan paduan yang memenuhi persyaratan. Letakkan satu lapisan ingot aluminium di dasar tungku, masukkan bahan yang mudah terbakar, lalu tekan dengan ingot aluminium. Bahan muatan tungku yang memiliki titik leleh lebih rendah ditempatkan pada lapisan atas, sehingga meleleh lebih dulu, mengalir ke bawah untuk menutupi bahan yang mudah terbakar di bawahnya, dan dengan demikian mengurangi kerugian akibat pembakaran. Pencampuran harus dilakukan sebelum pengambilan sampel dan setelah penyesuaian komposisi bahan. Pencampuran harus dilakukan secara stabil tanpa merusak lapisan oksida pada permukaan lelehan. Setelah lelehan tercampur secara merata, sampel harus segera diambil untuk analisis pra-tungku.
