Oleh karena itu, bahan ini mencakup serat silikat aluminium dengan Al\u2082O\u2083 dan SiO\u2082 sebagai komponen utamanya, serat kristalin alumina dengan alumina sebagai komponen utamanya, serta serat kristalin zirkonia lainnya dengan ketahanan api lebih dari 1500\u00b0C, serat forsterit, dan serat oksida komponen khusus lainnya. Beberapa komponen dalam atmosfer tungku, seperti H\u2082, CO, CH\u2084, dan NH\u2083, serta logam alkali, fluor, klorin, dan SO\u2083\u00b2\u207b, dapat memengaruhi proses rekristalisasi, termasuk pembentukan inti kristal dan laju pertumbuhan kristal.
