Namun, suhu metamorfik tidak boleh terlalu tinggi; jika terlalu tinggi, hal itu akan secara drastis meningkatkan oksidasi dan penyerapan pada cairan aluminium, serta meningkatkan kandungan kotoran besi dalam cairan aluminium, sehingga memperpendek masa pakai wadah peleburan. Waktu modifikasi harus ditentukan berdasarkan percobaan sesuai dengan kondisi spesifik.
