Hal ini karena semakin kecil ukuran gelembung, semakin banyak gelembung yang dihasilkan dari volume gas yang sama, sehingga luas permukaannya semakin besar; kecepatan naiknya pun semakin lambat; dan waktu kontaknya dengan cairan logam semakin lama.
