Penghilangan gas terlarut biasanya merupakan langkah terakhir sebelum aluminium dituang menjadi produk. Jika gas terlarut tidak dihilangkan, produk aluminium yang dihasilkan akan mengandung sisa gas, yang dapat membentuk rongga-rongga kecil atau lubang. Jika tidak dihilangkan, gas terlarut tersebut akan menyebabkan retakan pada hasil coran akhir saat mendingin.
