Degassing adalah proses yang digunakan untuk menghilangkan hidrogen dari aluminium cair. Metode degassing aluminium dengan nitrogen yang paling umum dilakukan adalah dengan memasukkan gas nitrogen ke dalam aluminium cair. Hidrogen yang menyebabkan inklusi ini akan tertarik ke gelembung-gelembung nitrogen, kemudian dibawa ke permukaan dan dilepaskan, sehingga menghilangkan kantong-kantong gas hidrogen yang menyebabkan pengotor.<\/p>\n<p>Gas hidrogen dapat larut dalam aluminium cair dan dapat menembusnya hampir semudah saat menembus udara. Saat logam cair tersebut mendingin dan mengeras, hidrogen mengalir dari daerah bertekanan tinggi ke daerah bertekanan rendah, sehingga membentuk kantong-kantong gas.
