Pendeteksian kandungan hidrogen dalam aluminium cair sebelum masuk ke tungku bertujuan untuk menjamin kualitas hasil coran. Terutama dalam proses pengecoran cetakan presisi, penggunaan peralatan penghilang gas pada aluminium cair untuk menghilangkan hidrogen dan terak menjadi sangat penting.<\/p>\n<p>Selama proses peleburan, logam aluminium bereaksi dengan uap air sehingga menghasilkan hidrogen, yang kemudian larut dalam cairan aluminium. Ketika aluminium cair mengeras, hidrogen tersebut terpisahkan dari aluminium cair. Jika kandungan hidrogen dalam aluminium cair terlalu tinggi, lubang-lubang mudah terbentuk pada hasil coran, dan sifat mekanis hasil coran tersebut akan menurun. Oleh karena itu, untuk volume gas yang sama, luas permukaannya meningkat sebesar 16 kali lipat dari jumlah hidrogen yang dipindahkan ke dalam gelembung. Gelembung-gelembung tersebut tidak akan mengganggu proses peleburan permukaan logam, sehingga hanya sedikit hidrogen yang diserap dari atmosfer.<\/p>\n<p>Dalam perangkat penghilang gas pada aluminium cair, kotoran-kotoran ini dipisahkan sebelum proses pembakaran, kemudian gasnya dihilangkan dengan cara membuang terak. Prinsip penghilangan gas ini juga diakui karena efisiensinya yang tinggi dan tidak memengaruhi proses produksi.
