Berkenaan dengan gas inert, yang dimaksud adalah gas yang tidak reaktif, sebaiknya disertai dengan gas klorin atau gas halogen lain yang sesuai, yang dialirkan melalui aluminium cair di dalam <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aluminiumceramicfiber.com\/id\/online-degassing-device\/\">ruang penghilang gas daring<\/a>. Gas klorin yang digunakan dapat berupa klorida berbentuk uap, seperti aluminium klorida atau heksakloroetana, atau sumber klorin aktif lainnya yang sesuai; meskipun klorin lebih disukai karena ketersediaannya dan kemudahan penanganannya, gas tersebut disediakan bersamaan dengan aliran gas non-reaktif. Meskipun gas klorin, terutama klorin, lebih disukai, gas halida atau halogen lain yang sesuai untuk mengalirkan aluminium cair juga dapat digunakan. Selain itu, nitrogen atau karbon dioksida dapat digunakan sebagai gas non-reaktif asalkan langkah-langkah yang tepat diambil untuk mencegah pembentukan karbida atau nitrida.<\/p>\n<p>Meskipun\u2014terutama jika bahan baku relatif bersih\u2014gas pembersih non-reaktif saja sudah dapat menghilangkan pengotor TiO\u2082, SiO\u2082, dan CaO, disarankan untuk juga menggunakan gas klorin atau gas halogen lainnya yang dapat memperkuat proses pembersihan serta meningkatkan penghilangan kontaminan lainnya.<\/p>\n<p>Proses penghilangan gas dengan gas inert menggunakan campuran gas; campuran yang terdiri dari 2 hingga 10 persen klorin dalam argon cukup cocok. Gas-gas tersebut sebaiknya dicampur terlebih dahulu sebelum dimasukkan ke dalam ruang degassing. Artinya, mencampur terlebih dahulu masing-masing gas dan memasukkan campuran tersebut melalui semua dispersi jauh lebih disarankan daripada memasukkan gas halogen atau klorin melalui beberapa dispersi dan gas non-reaktif melalui dispersi lainnya. Secara umum, jumlah total gas fluks berkaitan dengan jumlah logam yang diolah.
