Hal ini tidak hanya dapat mengurangi reaksi oksidasi antara udara dan aluminium cair, tetapi juga mengurangi penyerapan hidrogen oleh aluminium cair, serta menjaga kelarutan hidrogen dalam aluminium cair tetap seminimal mungkin.
