Proses oksidasi tersebut akan membentuk lapisan alumina yang utuh di permukaannya. Meskipun lapisan ini tidak berubah, lapisan tersebut melindungi paduan cair dari oksidasi lebih lanjut.<\/p>\n<p>Di bengkel pengecoran, pergerakan merupakan bagian dari proses yang menyebabkan retakan permukaan, oksidasi lebih lanjut, dan penebalan cepat lapisan permukaan.
