Saat menggunakan pemurnian dengan fluks, terbentuklah sejumlah besar tetesan fluks yang tersebar dan berukuran halus di dalam cairan logam. Penyebab utama terbentuknya pori-pori adalah: bahan baku yang digunakan dalam keadaan basah, serta tungku dan peralatan yang belum benar-benar kering.
