Rotor memecah gas inert menjadi gelembung-gelembung halus dan menyebarkannya secara merata di dalam logam cair. Kehadiran hidrogen dalam aluminium cair akan menimbulkan bintik-bintik putih atau pori-pori, yang akan berdampak negatif terhadap produk akhir. Misalnya, produk-produk aluminium tersebut mungkin tidak mencapai sifat mekanis atau fisik yang memadai dan dapat mengurangi kekuatan tariknya. Retakan akibat kelelahan material juga dapat disebabkan oleh inklusi hidrogen.<\/p>\n<p>Sisa pengecoran dapat disebabkan oleh lubang-lubang kecil pada coran atau permukaan yang telah diolah, atau karena adanya kebocoran saat coran harus menahan tekanan. Selama pengolahan ingot bulat, pori-pori dapat membentuk busa pada produk tempa, produk ekstrusi, pelat tipis, dan pelat tebal. Inklusi logam maupun non-logam harus dihilangkan, karena dapat merusak sifat mekanis produk. Dalam proses pemesinan dan pemolesan, inklusi juga dapat mempercepat keausan alat.<\/p>\n<p>Inklusi dan lapisan oksida terbentuk saat bahan dilelehkan atau ditambahkan sebagai oksida ke permukaan bahan. Karena memiliki kepadatan yang berbeda dibandingkan dengan aluminium cair, inklusi dan lapisan oksida tersebut pada akhirnya akan naik ke permukaan atau mengendap jika waktu penahanan diperpanjang.
