Sesuai dengan kondisi kerja yang berbeda-beda, institut ini telah mengembangkan bahan keramik berbusa dari empat jenis material, yaitu mullit (tipe MF), korundum (tipe AF), zirkonia-mullit, dan zirkonia-korundum (tipe ZMF) dan zirkonia-korundum (tipe ZAF), memiliki porositas terbuka sebesar 7585wol%, serta kekuatan tekan pada suhu kamar dan suhu tinggi masing-masing sebesar 2,5\u20133,5 MPa dan 1,3\u20132,0 MPa, tingkat ketahanan api sebesar 1640\u20131800\u00b0C, dan suhu operasi maksimum dapat mencapai 1650\u00b0C, yang mendekati standar tingkat lanjut internasional. Karakteristik proses produksi seri filter keramik berbusa ini adalah: dipilih jenis bahan pembantu baru dengan koefisien ekspansi termal yang kecil, ketahanan api yang tinggi, kemampuan bantu sintering yang sangat baik, serta kemampuan suspensi dan dispersi bubur keramik; perekat bubur keramik yang dipilih adalah perekat anorganik dengan kekuatan tinggi, produksi gas rendah, dan harga terjangkau.
