Seiring perkembangan masyarakat, persyaratan kualitas produk aluminium semakin tinggi, dan penerapan pelat filter keramik akan semakin meluas. Dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, kualitas pelat filter keramik dalam negeri telah meningkat pesat, namun karena keterbelakangan teknologi dan peralatan produksi, kualitas pelat filter tersebut masih belum dapat memenuhi kebutuhan produksi, sehingga beberapa perusahaan pengolahan aluminium masih mengimpor pelat filter dari luar negeri. Sejak FOSECO memasuki pasar Tiongkok sebagai perusahaan patungan dengan Shenzhen Jinke Special Materials Co., Ltd. pada awal tahun 1990-an, lini produksi yang dibangun dengan peralatan, bahan baku, dan proses produksi canggih dari Inggris secara resmi mulai beroperasi pada awal tahun 1997. Setelah bertahun-tahun bekerja keras, produksi bahan baku telah dilokalkan, kualitas pelat filter yang dihasilkan telah memenuhi indikator teknis FOSECO, dan produk-produk tersebut telah diekspor ke negara-negara asing serta wilayah Hong Kong dan Taiwan. Busa tersebut tidak akan menyebabkan cekungan lokal, retakan, dan sebagainya selama tahap perendaman. Masalah yang saat ini dihadapi oleh busa dalam negeri: Pertama, kekuatannya tidak cukup, sehingga tidak dapat menahan lumpur yang cukup selama proses ekstrusi, dan mudah robek selama proses tersebut; kedua, elastisitasnya rendah, kemampuan pemulihannya buruk, dan busa mengalami deformasi yang signifikan setelah direndam, yang biasanya dijelaskan dalam spesifikasi busa. Parameter yang digunakan adalah PPI (pori per inci, yaitu jumlah pori per inci panjang). PPI tidak mencerminkan ukuran pori busa. Beberapa pihak asing menyarankan agar CPI (sel per inci, lihat Gambar I) digunakan sebagai gantinya. Orang-orang masih menggunakan PPI. Dalam praktiknya, orang tidak dapat mengukur PPI atau CPI busa secara akurat. Metode tradisional untuk mengukur jumlah pori dengan metode garis lurus sangat tidak akurat. Saat ini, FOSECO menggunakan metode pengukuran permeabilitas udara busa untuk menentukan spesifikasi busa, yaitu dengan mengukur penurunan tekanan udara sebelum dan sesudah melewati busa pada kondisi aliran udara tertentu, kemudian mengonversi nilai penurunan tekanan udara tersebut ke dalam metode pengukuran tradisional PPL.
