Dengan demikian, sebagian besar oksida masuk ke dalam fluks dan mengurangi kadar oksida dalam logam cair.<\/li>\n<li>Aliran dapat mengubah kondisi lapisan oksida pada permukaan logam cair. Hal ini karena aliran dapat menyebabkan lapisan oksida yang kuat dan padat pada permukaan logam cair terpecah menjadi partikel-partikel halus, sehingga memudahkan hidrogen dalam logam cair untuk menembus celah-celah di antara partikel-partikel tersebut dan kemudian keluar.<\/li>\n<li>Keberadaan lapisan fluks dapat mengisolasi kontak antara uap air di atmosfer dan lelehan aluminium, sehingga menghambat masuknya hidrogen ke dalam lelehan aluminium, sekaligus mencegah terjadinya pembakaran oksidatif pada lelehan tersebut.<\/li>\n<li>Flux dapat menyerap oksida dalam lelehan aluminium, sehingga lelehan tersebut dapat dimurnikan. Tergantung pada jenis paduan aluminium yang digunakan, bahan penutup dan bahan pemurnian yang digunakan pun berbeda. Namun, setiap fluks yang digunakan dalam proses peleburan paduan aluminium harus memenuhi syarat-syarat berikut:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Titik lelehnya harus lebih rendah daripada suhu leleh paduan aluminium.<\/li>\n<li>Berat jenisnya harus lebih kecil daripada berat jenis paduan aluminium.<\/li>\n<li>Dapat menyerap dan melarutkan inklusi dalam cairan logam, serta dapat menghilangkan gas dari cairan logam tersebut.<\/li>\n<li>Bahan tersebut tidak boleh bereaksi secara kimiawi dengan logam dan lapisan tungku.
