Aluminum alloy will inevitably absorb and carry gas and produce inclusions during the smelting process, which will cause a series of defects such as porosity, shrinkage, shrinkage, cracks and leakage of the casting, which will reduce the purity of the aluminum alloy and affect the quality. Therefore, the aluminum alloy smelting process must be refined and purified to eliminate these gases and inclusions and improve the quality of the aluminum alloy. Adding a refining flux to the aluminum alloy for refining and purification is a common measure.
The refining flux is a white powder or granular flux. It is prepared by mixing a variety of inorganic salts after drying treatment in a certain proportion. The refining agent is mainly used to remove the hydrogen and floating oxidized slag in the aluminum liquid, so that the aluminum liquid is more pure, and it has the effect of a slag cleaning agent. Part of the components in the degassing refining flux is easily decomposed at high temperatures, and the generated gas is prone to hydrogen reaction, has a strong adsorption force with slag inclusions, and quickly escapes from the melt. Other components have the function of slag cleaning agent.
The refining flux is suitable for common grades of aluminum alloy (alloys with high magnesium content and aluminum-magnesium alloys cannot be used), and when smelting pure aluminum, degassing refining and slag removal.
Refining Agent Usage: Sprinkle the refining agent on the liquid surface, quickly press it into the molten aluminum, fully stir and let it stand for slag removal. For example, with the help of a sprayer, spray the Aluminum Casting Flux into the molten aluminum with inert gas for better results.
