There is a certain relationship between the solubility of hydrogen in aluminum melt, the melt temperature and hydrogen partial pressure. The higher the solubility of hydrogen in the melt is, the higher the partial pressure of hydrogen is. When the partial pressure of hydrogen is constant, the higher the melt temperature, the greater the solubility of hydrogen.

Melt temperature and melt residence time have a very close effect on hydrogen content of aluminum alloy melt. Therefore, these two key smelting process indexes must be strictly controlled in smelting production. The shorter the theoretical high temperature residence time is, the better, and the lower the melting temperature, the better. However, due to the equipment conditions and performance, it can not meet the ideal requirements. In the actual production of aluminum foil blank, the melting temperature must be controlled below 750 ° C, the melting time of a heat must be controlled within 4.5 h, and the intermediate residence time from melting to converter must be less than 4 hours, in which the time should be as short as possible under the conditions. If the residence time after melting is more than 4 hours, it must be refined again.

In the production process, the temperature of holding furnace should be controlled as low as possible to reduce the hydrogen absorption of melt. Generally, the temperature of holding furnace should not exceed 735 ℃ when producing high quality aluminum foil products. If the product specification is narrow, the temperature drop of the system is relatively small due to the small output. Therefore, insulation measures should be taken for the washing system, and the temperature of molten aluminum in the degassing equipment should be appropriately increased to ensure that the temperature of the holding furnace is controlled in a lower range.

The converter process is a process of melting oxide inclusions and increasing hydrogen content. Different converter operation methods have different effects on the final melt quality. Therefore, the best converter method must be selected to avoid the adverse effects caused by converter operation. The current converter method mainly includes ladle converter and ladle converter. Statistical data show that the alumina content of ladle converter is increased by 52%, and that of ladle converter is increased by 8.7%. It can be seen that the flume transformation method is more effective to control the melt quality.
