Flux Refining Operation for Refining Molten Aluminum

Flux Refining Operation is necessary for improving the effect of refining, slagging and degassing, the following items should be paid attention to in flux refining operation.

Flux Refining Operation

There are many metal flux manufacturers to choose the appropriate refining agent, and there are also many varieties of metal fluxes. You can choose a suitable metal flux according to the characteristics of the alloy type and melting facility used by the project. Refining agent is the function of refining the structure and preventing pinholes. Refining is also deteriorating. The primary refining and degrading treatment agent not only plays the role of refining and degassing, but also the role of deteriorating treatment. Ethylene chloride is mainly used for refining and degassing.

The amount of refining agent added should be selected according to the use requirements, the amount of reheating material, etc., to ensure the quality of the molten aluminum and cause waste.

Choose the appropriate refining temperature of the refining agent, the refining temperature is different. Refining agent decomposes a certain amount of gas or substance to achieve the effect of slagging and degassing through thermal decomposition, so a certain temperature is needed to realize the decomposition of the refining agent. Generally, the refining temperature of most of the refining agents used is around 740 degrees. Generally, the temperature should be lowered to the pouring temperature when standing still after refining to prevent pinholes and slag inclusion defects. Like hexachloroethane, the temperature can be 700-720 degrees, and the refining effect is also very good, while the refining temperature of nitrogen is not more than 720 degrees, and the refining temperature of argon is about 760 degrees. Therefore, the appropriate temperature should be selected according to the refining agent instructions.

The general requirement for refining is not less than 8 minutes. Sometimes when the amount of addition meets the requirements, the refining time cannot reach the actual quality of the molten aluminum. If there is a density equivalent meter, it can be immediately known whether the quality of the molten aluminum is qualified. The thermal equivalent analyzer can measure the mechanical properties in real time.

The purpose of the standing time is to make the refined aluminum water reach a uniform and stable chemical composition within a limited time, and the diffused gas and slag have time to escape from the aluminum water, so the refined aluminum water must stand for a period of time , Generally no less than 15 minutes.
