Secondary Aluminum Melt Refining, Recycling Process of Scrap Aluminum

Secondary aluminum smelting plants provide aluminum scrap processing and smelting, metallurgical treatment and melt refining, as well as aluminum casting or further transportation in liquid form.

The treated waste is melted in batches in a furnace, and the molten salt absorbs contaminants and is renewed when necessary. The metal melt is transferred to the holding furnace (converter), where the melt is metallurgically processed, post-purified (refined) and alloyed. Refine by introducing refining gas (chlorine, nitrogen, argon). The material separated in this process floats to the top and separates as dross. The dross is then processed and remelted. The processed melt is then cast into blocks or left unused in insulated containers in order to transport the liquid to the foundry.

Secondary Aluminum Melt Refining

Judging from the current production process, in the recycling process of scrap aluminum, the smelting of recycled aluminum and the treatment of the melt are the key processes to ensure the quality of recycled aluminum metallurgy. The modification and refining and purification of secondary aluminum melt can not only change the form of silicon in the aluminum-silicon alloy, purify the aluminum melt, but also greatly improve the performance of the aluminum alloy.

The aluminum solution in the smelting furnace is introduced into the refining purification furnace through the diversion tank for refining, so as to realize the deterioration and purification of the aluminum melt. Nitrogen is introduced into the aluminum liquid to generate bubbles, and these bubbles are used to adsorb the dissolved hydrogen and inclusions during the floating process, and remove the dissolved hydrogen, oxide inclusions and non-metallic inclusions in the aluminum liquid. Add a modifier to the aluminum melt for smelting to improve the mechanical properties of the aluminum alloy.

Use a spectrometer to detect the aluminum solution and analyze the content of each chemical element. In order to ensure that the chemical composition of the alloy material meets the technical requirements and pressure processing requirements, a part of primary aluminum ingots will be added when necessary. After passing the test, the refined aluminum liquid is poured into shape.
