Ceramic Casting Filter for Molten Aluminum Filtration

Ceramic casting filter is an economical and convenient method to remove aluminum inclusions, which has been widely used to filter molten aluminum.

The size of ceramic foam filter plates varies from 7 inches to 26 inches, and the sizes of through-hole vary from 20ppi to 60ppi.

There is an 8mm aluminum silicate gasket around the ceramic filter plate to seal the contact part between the filter plate and the filter box to ensure that there is no aluminum bypass.

With the improvement of ingot quality requirements, the purity of molten aluminum in the casting process is required to be higher and higher. Therefore, when the foam ceramic filter plate is used to filter molten aluminum, the pore size of the filter plate becomes smaller and smaller.

The ceramic casting filter has multi-layer network, multi-dimensional through holes, and the holes are connected with each other.

During filtration, molten aluminum has impurities and flows along the zigzag channels and holes. When aluminum is in contact with the foam frame of the filter plate, aluminum will be directly intercepted, adsorbed and deposited.

When the melt flows in the hole, the channel of the filter plate is curved. The melt flowing through the channel changes the flow direction, and the inclusions collide with the anvil and adhere firmly to the wall.

The main function of foam ceramic filter is to ensure its size and porosity. The bigger the hole of filter plate, the worse the effect of slag removal. For aluminum castings with strict requirements, small hole filter plate should be selected.
